After a stellar 2015 campaign for the New York Jets, it appears that Eric Decker‘s 2016 season is going to end just a few weeks in.

Decker initially injured his rotator cuff against the Buffalo Bills back on September 15th, and it was further damaged against the Kansas City Chiefs. Decker missed Sunday's game against the Steelers, and the Jets officially placed him on injured reserve with a partially torn rotator cuff on Wednesday.

Decker is eligible return from the IR after eight weeks, but that likely won't be the case. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Decker will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the rotator cuff.

A very capable Quincy Enunwa now steps in as the wide receiver #2 for the Jets, behind Brandon Marshall. New York will need more reinforcements from multiple positions if they really hope to turn their season around now that Decker's out.
