Joakim Noah‘s contract with the Chicago Bulls is up, and there's a lot of mixed reporting about his future.

Initially, back in April, it was revealed that Chicago has a “strong internal desire” to re-sign Noah. Then, yesterday, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Joakim has told his teammates that he plans to leave the Bulls in free agency. Noah's agent quickly responded, stating that there's “zero indiction” that his client wants out of Chicago.

So, what's actually happening?

Well, the newest update comes from Nick Friedell of ESPN.com, who reports that advances are being made in contract talks between Noah and the Bulls.

Veteran Bulls center Joakim Noah, his representatives and the Chicago front office continue to have a “positive dialogue” about a new contract.

We won't know for sure what's actually going down behind the scenes until Noah ultimately signs a new contract with the Bulls, or he finds a new home.
