The Houston Rockets are making some moves to their roster. It has been reported that the Rockets will sign free agent guard Markel Brown to a two-way contract. To make room for his signing, the franchise will part ways with Briante Weber, making him an unrestricted free agent, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Weber appeared for the Rockets in 13 games this season when Chris Paul was injured. Although he was only given 9.1 minutes of playing time, he was still able to provide them with a lot of energy and hustle, to go along with his 2.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.
After being part of the Thunder’s Summer league squad, Brown took his talents to the G League where he has been playing at a very high level for the Oklahoma City Blue. He also has two NBA seasons under his belt, as he suited up for the Brooklyn Nets from 2014 to 2016, appearing in a total of 109 regular season and two playoff games for them. He owns career averages of 5.3 points 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 16.2 minutes per game.
Now with the Rockets, Brown will have the opportunity to compete for some playing time and he'll definitely make the most of his chance to once again play in the NBA. His game also fits the Rockets’ style as he has the ability to knock down 3-pointers and is not shy to shoot them whenever he’s free. It still remains to be seen what kind of impact he can give his new team but it can be expected that he will only be used sparingly.
