The absence of James Harden from the Houston Rockets' training camp has cast doubts on the future of the franchise. Despite the drama involving Harden, DeMarcus Cousins sent an encouraging message to Clutch City fans.

When Houston began their training camp recently, Harden was a no-show. While the Rockets were surprised by his absence, there were videos and pictures of The Beard in Las Vegas that surfaced on social media.

It is well-known that Harden is uncertain about the future of the Rockets after the team moved on from Mike D'Antoni and Daryl Morey. Plus, they traded Russell Westbrook in exchange for John Wall, who hasn't played in a game since the 2018-2019 campaign.

Throughout the offseason, Houston also made moves to improve their frontcourt. Besides signing Christian Wood to a lucrative contract, the Rockets inked a deal with Cousins, who missed all of last season due to injury.

Cousins, who played with Wall at Kentucky, is excited to be reunited with his former teammate on the Rockets. He's also anxious to get another chance to play in the NBA after dealing with multiple injuries in recent years.

After his extended absence, Harden finally reported to training camp on Tuesday. With that being said, there are still concerns within Houston's organization on whether or not he's fully committed to the team.

As for DeMarcus Cousins, regardless of James Harden's future, he's confident in the direction of the Rockets.
