The 2018 NBA Playoffs are here at last and scheduled to begin this weekend. A path to the Houston Rockets' third championship title in franchise history begins on Sunday night when the team hosts the No. 8 seed Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the first round.
Last month during the final meeting of the regular season between the two teams, Rockets veteran shooting guard Gerald Green and Wolves center Gorgui Dieng got into a heated confrontation that led to a one-game suspension for Green.
When asked about whether Green thought the incident in Target Center would be remembered, Green said it was an incident that he has put behind him and his focus lies elsewhere.
“I don’t know. I’m pretty sure,” Green said, via an article written on Friday by Rockets beat writer Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. “I don’t have any (concerns). I’m just worried about the first game of the playoffs, trying to protect home court. All the other stuff is not my worries.”
Since Green returned to his hometown Rockets in late December for a second career stint with the team, he continues to be a feel-good story and is playing very well.
In 41 games this season with Houston, Green has put up great numbers off the bench with 12.1 points per game on 40.7 percent shooting from the field, 36.9 percent shooting from behind the arc, and 3.2 rebounds per game in only 22.7 minutes of action per contest.
