Jalen Green is ready to get to work and show the Houston Rockets they are right in picking him with the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

There was never any question about Green's scoring capabilities. In fact, it can be said he is the best scorer in the class after he put up 17.9 points on 46.1 percent shooting during his lone season with the G League Ignite team. He also shot a decent 36.5 percent from deep in the 15 games he played against other G League players.

With his proven scoring ability, Green vowed that it's exactly what the Rockets will be able to witness and more. According to the 19-year-old, he's also geared to show his “killer mentality.”

“The different type of ways we work on scoring, I feel like I’m a three-level scorer,” Green said, per Kelly Iko of The Athletic. “And at the same time, I got that killer mentality. I want to kill whoever’s in front of me. I think that’s all you really need. And the tools, you’re just working on sharpening everything up. I just like getting bucket.”

Jalen Green will likely share the backcourt with another potent scorer in Kevin Porter Jr. And while it's safe to expect some struggles at the start as they try to figure out on how to share the ball, Green is confident he can impact the game and score in a variety of ways–no matter the situation he's put in with the Rockets.

“Put me anywhere. The corner, the wing, the top [of the key], halfcourt, fullcourt. Ask me to get a bucket and I promise I will,” Green proclaimed.

If that doesn't hype up Rockets fans, nothing well. Green is undoubtedly one of, if not the most NBA-ready player in the draft and Houston can expect him to contribute right away.

Hopefully, he'll show just that in the summer league and as the 2021-22 season arrives.
