Jalen Green has never been shy in telling everyone why he deserved to be the top overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. However, he's also not holding back his lack of enthusiasm as far as playing for the Detroit Pistons goes.

Just recently, the Houston Rocketsā€˜ prized rookie showed up at his team's Summer League game sporting a Deion Sanders shirt that had some people buzzing.

Sanders' comment draws a parallel to what Green said in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

ā€œI wanted to be the No. 1 pick, but as for location, I didnā€™t want to be in Detroitā€¦.I felt a lot more comfortable in Houston. It felt like a real homie environment. With Detroit, it felt like I was just going back to the G League bubble, and I just got out of the bubble. Thatā€™s pretty much what it was.ā€

Interestingly, Jalen Green worked out for the Pistons prior to the NBA Draft. Was he doing it out of due diligence? After all, it would've painted a poor image of the former G League Ignite standout if he shunned Detroit at the time. He could have risked falling one or two places in the draft, considering the depth of this class at the top.

It's safe to assume Green knew what he was doing when he pulled this shirt out of his closet on the same day his interview went out. At this stage, he's already showing how savvy he is when it comes to the media.
