The step-back 3-pointer has become the signature shot of Houston Rockets star James Harden. It's one of his most unstoppable moves, one which elevated him as one of the greatest shooting guards in the history of the NBA. And apparently, The Beard wants that shot to be remembered by future generations.

In an interview with ESPN's Tim MacMahon, Harden said that he wants the step-back triple to be remembered in the same way as Michael Jordan's fadeaway, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's sky hook and Dirk Nowitzki's one-legged fadeaway.

“…you know how Mike [Jordan] has his fadeaway and Dirk [Nowitzki] has his one-leg and [Kareem Abdul-Jabbar] had the sky hook, I want my step-back to be one of those moves that last forever. So when I travel around the world and I see little kids that [say], ‘Hey James, I got a step-back!' — I love to see that,” Harden shared.

“It's me being a creator and me being an innovator and paving the way in basketball in my own way, doing it how I want to do it, and that's what it's all about. As a little kid playing in these parks, that's what I imagined, that's what I dreamed of. Now it's coming to reality, so it's pretty cool.”

Harden's step-back is already remarkable, but if he wants it to be remembered under his name, he certainly needs to win a title. Besides, all those greats he mentioned won a title with their signature shots as their go-to moves.

During a recent visit in the Philippines, Harden said that he sees his step-back in the same level as MJ and Kareem's signature moves. Now, it's time for him to prove that's the case.
