Victor Oladipo could have already played his last game for the Houston Rockets. With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Rockets have just announced that the 6-foot-4 combo guard will be out of action for Wednesday's tilt against the Charlotte Hornets.
As reported by Marc Stein of the New York Times, Oladipo will sit out Wednesday's game due to personal reasons:
Oladipo has been in and out of the lineup for the Rockets for pretty much since he arrived. He suited up last Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder but was unavailable again for Monday's monumental win against the Toronto Raptors.
Rumors have been rife about what appears to be an impending move away from Houston for Oladipo. The Golden State Warriors, the New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic have been some of the teams that have been heavily-linked to the 28-year-old, who himself turned down a max offer extension from the Rockets no too long ago.
According to reports, Oladipo refused to sign on the dotted line because he wanted to pursue a long-term deal — something that Houston's front office was apparently unwilling to give him. The Rockets reportedly offered him a two-year extension, which as it is, does not strike Oladipo's fancy. Then again, it could also be true that he just hasn't found life to be too peachy in Houston since making the move from the Indiana Pacers last January.
It would not be surprising if, at this point, Oladipo has already packed his bags.
