The Oakland A's officially look like they could be on the move in the near future. According to John Canzano of the Oregonian, the Athletics will be visiting Las Vegas this week and, Portland next month. The latter is a thrill for Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who played minor league baseball before eventually pursuing a football career. Check out his giddy reaction:

Wilson is loving it. More baseball in the Pacific Northwest is a win in his eyes. Meanwhile, an MLB source confirmed that Oakland Athletics owner John Fisher will be accompanied by team president Dave Kaval, vice president Billy Beane and executive Sandy Dean when they come to Oregon in June to check things out.

Portland previously had a Triple-A ballclub which eventually left in 2010. There's no shortage of MLB fans in the PNW either, but Vegas could also be tough competition. After all, they took Oakland's football franchise already, too.

The Oakland Athletics are enjoying a remarkable season though despite the rumors of relocation, currently sitting in first place in the American League West with a 28-20 record.

It will be interesting to see who ultimately lands the A's if they do indeed move. At this point though, it seems likely that it will boil down to Las Vegas and Portland.
