New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara might be turning into a NASCAR fan. Kamara tweeted out his support of driver Bubba Wallace and NASCAR on Thursday.

Kamara initially asked about the date of the next NASCAR race, prompting Wallace to respond to the Pro Bowler.

True to his word, Kamara tuned in to the race at Martinsville.

NASCAR responded by tweeting at Kamara, saying, “Glad to have you riding with us.” Kamara seemed to appreciate that gesture.

Wallace has been among the most outspoken racers in the sport.

He said NASCAR should ban the confederate flag from racetracks, and also raced with “Black Lives Matter” etched across his car. Wallace also spoke about why the message was so important to him before the race (via CBS News):

“I haven't really slept much thinking about this race — everything that's going into it and everything going on in the world. Trying to race to change the world here,” the 26-year-old said hours before a Virginia race for which he painted his stock car black, emblazoned with the words “Black Lives Matter” on each side. “It's not that we're saying no other lives matter. We're trying to say that black lives matter, too,” he said.

NASCAR indeed released a statement prior to the race saying the display of the flag would hereby be prohibited at races.

Wallace might not know the movement he started within his sport. But his words and actions speak volumes to other athletes, and he seems to have gained a fan in Kamara.
