With the New Orleans Saints desperate to find a solution for their quarterback woes, they reportedly reached out to both Drew Brees and Philip Rivers to potentially suit up for the team for the time being.

Unfortunately, both retired NFL legends declined the recruitment pitch. In fact, according to Nick Underhill of New Orleans Football, Brees reportedly did not only refuse the offer but he also sent a photo of himself golfing.

Indeed, Drew Brees is enjoying retirement life and won't exchange it even just for a day of football. While the idea of Brees coming out of retirement and saving the Saints from the season as they try to stay alive in the playoff race, we can't really blame him for rejecting the offer. He has already done his part with the team and the sport he loves, so he definitely deserves this time for himself and his family.

The Saints are dealing with a major headache because of the COVID-19 outbreak among NFL teams. With Jameis Winston already out with a season-ending knee injury, their problems got even bigger when their remaining top QBs in Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian landed on the COVID-19 list.

It forced the team to lean on third-string quarterback Ian Book to take the reigns as starter. And in a bid to boost their depth even a little bit, the Saints signed Blake Bortles to serve as Book's backup.

While Brees decided against unretiring, the Saints can be sure he'll be cheering for them…maybe after a round of golf.
