The New Orleans Saints made a big addition to their roster when they signed then-free agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry to a one-year, $3 million contract back in May. Landry, an eight-year NFL veteran, adds some experience to a Saints wide receiver room that was lacking in that category, besides Michael Thomas. It's also another weapon for quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston spoke about Landry on Wednesday, getting real on his new pass-catcher, per Pro Football Talk.

“I think that’s one thing about having a veteran guy with great savvy — he’s just a baller who knows how to get open,” Winston said. “I really admire that so much about him because it’s a part of that where — that’s the receiver’s job. Hey, get open. No matter how detailed the route is or the specific coverage, when you find a way to get open, you get the ball.”

Winston said that Landry is a “baller” who “knows how to get open.” The Saints quarterback respects Landry's ability to consistently excel at one of a receiver's most important job descriptions: get open.

Landry has done that quite well in his career, having been targeted at least 100 times in all but one of his eight seasons. He figures to be a dependable option for Winston, who was well on his way to having a strong season before he sustained a season-ending knee injury.

Just ask Winston, who knows Landry is a “baller.”
