Jameis Winston has quickly become one of the main voices in the locker room for the New Orleans Saints. Winston, who is entering his eight seasons, has always been a polarizing figure. But he has also been a solid leader.

In a recent video that shows Winston giving a speech to the Saints team, his leadership skills are on full display. Winston, who will attempt to bring the Saints back to success, gave the group a compelling talk ahead of the start of the season.

Winston has often been scrutinized both on and off the field. The former number one overall pick has struggled at times. He currently has a record of 33-44. Throughout his seven-year career, he has thrown 135 touchdowns, 20,982 yards, and 91 interceptions.

The Saints originally brought Jameis Winston in during the 2020 season. He served as the backup to Drew Brees during his final season.

In 2021, Jameis Winston was meant to become the starting quarterback for the Saints. Through seven games, he looked to be playing some of the best football of his career. He threw 14 touchdowns, 1,170 yards, and just three interceptions. New Orleans also had a record of 5-2.

Winston and the Saints were heading in the right direction. But a torn ACL saw his season come to an early end. After losing Jameis Winston, the Saints began to struggle. They finished the season with a 9-8 record, winning just four more games without their quarterback.

As Jameis Winston looks to be fully healthy in 2022, the Saints will hope that he can pick up right where he left off. If he can return to that form, the Saints could be a legitimate threat in the NFC.
