The quarterback battle between Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston is the thing to watch surrounding the New Orleans Saints team after Drew Brees called it a career. Well, Winston got off on the right foot on Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars and rookie Trevor Lawrence.

Winston threw an absolute bomb to Marquez Callaway to kick things off.

That didn't take long, and Winston is trying to do whatever it takes to take home the starting job for the Saints. Taysom Hill and Winston are neck and neck, and Saints head coach Sean Payton has been bleak regarding who will get the job.

If Winston can make plays like these for the Saints on a weekly basis, he should be able to hold the job and keep the Saints competitive. Taysom Hill took the starting gig when Drew Brees was injured last year and it was a mixed bag, and the arm strength of Winson is something they definitely would like to have.

With one more preseason game remaining, every rep and every throw is important, and surely this Winston play will be one the coaching staff looks at as they approach a decision for the starting quarterback job this season.
