The New Orleans Saints brought back a familiar face when they traded for running back Mark Ingram on Thursday. Ingram had been with the Houston Texans this year before his former team swooped in to take him back.

Now, following the move, the Saints and Ingram have already agreed on a one-year extension. Per Field Yates of ESPN, the deal is worth up to $2.8 million.

Ingram had been the lead-back with the Texans this year but did split up some of those touches with fellow backs David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay. Now that he's back with the Saints, Ingram is expected to be the RB2 behind star Alvin Kamara.

The two shared a backfield with the Saints before and it worked perfectly and they'll try to recreate that once again.

New Orleans is off to a 4-2 start led by quarterback Jameis Winston. While the offense has yet to really hit its stride, the defense for the Saints has been phenomenal. They've allowed the fewest points in the NFC (101) and now with Ingram in the fold and Michael Thomas hopefully joining the team at some point, the offense could start clicking as well.

Ingram will likely be in the lineup and ready to go Sunday when the Saints face off against their division rivals in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
