Michael Thomas is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, if not the best. This past season, the New Orleans Saints star led the league in both receptions (149, which was a single-season NFL record) and receiving yards (1,725) while also scoring nine touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

It marked the second straight year that Thomas had paced the NFL in catches, and it also represented the second consecutive season that Thomas earned Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors.

But in spite of how historically well Thomas has been performing, he still isn't entirely satisfied and thinks he can do a better job of supporting his quarterback, Drew Brees:

“I already knew he was coming back,” Thomas said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I can keep a secret. That’s my guy. As long as I knew it was back to the drawing board. How can we get him where he deserves to be? How can I become a better player to be even more dynamic and a better weapon for him on the outside when he looks for me? How can I create more value to this team?”

At this point, I'm not sure what else Thomas can do. What? Two thousand receiving yards?

To be fair, I guess Thomas can improve as a red-zone option, as he has yet to tally double-digit touchdowns through four seasons, but that almost seems like nitpicking.

The fact of the matter is that Thomas, who is still just 27 years old, does not have to improve one iota. He can be the same guy he has been the past couple of years and everything will be just fine.

If anything, other receivers need to step up.
