Sunday night's demolition job against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have the New Orleans Saints feeling good about their season ahead. They've recently made a significant roster move to bolster their squad ahead of what should be a grueling campaign ahead, and this comes in the form of a new center in 29-year-old Austin Reiter.

This report comes via NFL insider Ari Meirov:

Reiter, who was part of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' championship run in 2020, became a free agent in the offseason after Kansas City decided against renewing his current deal. The former South Florida standout has been looking for a new home since, and it's a welcome development for him that he was able to secure a new deal with the Saints. The fact that New Orleans signed him immediately after working him out speaks volumes of how much the Saints wanted Reiter on their squad.

As the above report states, New Orleans will be missing the services of third-year center Erik McCoy after he sustained a calf strain during the Saints' Week 1 shellacking of the Packers. It was an impressive outing for the underdog Saints, but it did come at a price. Reiter comes in as a makeshift replacement for McCoy, and the former could be in line for a starting gig in the interim.
