The New Orleans Saints have made it no secret that they intend to bring in another running back to help fill the void left by Mark Ingram when he serves his suspension. The Saints have been actively fielding interest from established veteran running backs such as Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles.

It appears they will keep that theme going through the offseason. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, New Orleans also brought in former Baltimore Ravens running back Terrance West for a workout:

In addition to Jamaal Charles, former Ravens’ RB Terrance West scheduled to visit Saints on Wednesday, per source.

Meanwhile, running back Tim Hightower has also been in attendance for minicamp, via Joel Erickson of the New Orleans Advocate:

Former Saint Tim Hightower is participating in the team's mandatory minicamp this week, and earlier this summer, Saints coach Sean Payton said the team's plan was to find an Ingram stopgap from among a depth chart that includes sixth-round pick Boston Scott, veteran Jonathan Williams and special-teamers Daniel Lasco and Trey Edmunds.

It is interesting to see the Saints are bringing in a plethora of options to help take Ingram's place for the first four games of the 2018 NFL season. They already have one of the most exciting backs in the game in Alvin Kamara, and there was speculation that he could be poised for a workhorse role in Ingram's absence.

However, it seems the Saints are committed to the one-two punch approach on the ground. They may also be looking to save Kamara from any unnecessary wear and tear early on. It goes without saying that New Orleans boasts the most talented backfield duo in the league. They hope to keep it the way this season.

As a result, either of these names above could see plenty of work to start the season. Hightower may have a slight advantage given his familiarity with the Saints, however. West could be a more viable option given his similarities to Ingram's running style.
