The New Orleans Saints are itching to get Drew Brees back under center, but they aren't going to force the issue. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Saints aren't going to rush Brees back for their Week 15 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Back in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers, Brees would take a hit from a defender after throwing a pass. After going to the ground, Brees was in pain and was unable to finish the game due to a rib injury.

Following the game, it was discovered that Brees suffered 11 fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. As a result, the Saints placed him on injured reserve, forcing him to miss a minimum of three games.

Given that, Brees was eligible to return in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, with the Saints in first place in the NFC, they don't see the need to insert Brees back in the offense if he's not one-hundred percent.

In Brees' absence, New Orleans has gone 3-0 with Taysom Hill operating the offense at quarterback. With that being said, two of those games have come against the Atlanta Falcons and the other was against a Denver Broncos team that had to start a practice squad wide receiver at quarterback.

It's apparent that Brees will need at least another week before he's able to make his return to the Saints. Even though New Orleans is going to be taking on the high-octane offense of the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15, they aren't going to force him back into the lineup.
