The New Orleans Saints will be getting a key piece of their defense back for Week 3 against Bill Belichick's New England Patriots.

Per ESPN's Field Yates, cornerback Marshon Lattimore is nearing 100% health and is expected to suit up on Sunday after missing Week 2:

Lattimore was an absolute beast in the season opener against the Patriots as the Saints rolled to a surprising 38-3 win. He collected three tackles and did a tremendous job locking down Davante Adams but ended up injuring his thumb. Shortly after the big victory, the 25-year-old was awarded a lucrative five-year, $97.6 million contract extension.

He was limited in practice last week because of the injury but has been slowly recovering ahead of Sunday. As of Friday, he was a full participant in practice and looks to be ready to go.

Lattimore has been a standout performer for the Saints secondary since coming into the league in 2017, collecting 56 pass breakups and 10 interceptions. Sean Payton's squad will also be getting several other players from their defense back for this Patriots game, with defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, linebacker Pete Werner, and defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon all expected to suit up.

The Saints will be looking to respond from a disappointing loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.
