With the NFL preseason wrapped up, all teams have shifted their focus to trimming down their rosters and prepping for the start of the regular season. For the New Orleans Saints, they are now uncertain where their opener will be played.

Saints head coach Sean Payton said Monday, via Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, that he's unsure if the Superdome in New Orleans will be good to go for the season opener against the Green Bay Packers.

“We don't know relative on Week 1 in the Superdome. … We'll have a Plan B. There's a lot of things from a priority standpoint that are more important to our city.”

Payton put it correctly by prioritizing the safety of those in New Orleans over figuring out where the Saints will be playing in Week 1.

Hurricane Ida struck New Orleans on Sunday and tons of videos have surfaced of the damage that was done. As a result, the Saints could end up playing Green Bay elsewhere.

While Payton pushed aside any thought of the game being played in Green Bay, and rightfully so, he did mention the possibility of the game being played at a neutral site.

The Saints preseason game scheduled for Saturday was canceled due to Hurricane Ida. It's super unlikely Week 1 for them would be postponed or moved to a different date.

The Saints team along with the coaches have evacuated to Dallas where they will be practicing for the time being. They'll now wonder where they will be at Week 1 as well.

Thoughts go out to those from and in New Orleans as Hurricane Ida tracks through.
