The much-anticipated reveal of the New Orleans Saints No. 2 spot at quarterback was unveiled on Monday and some may be surprised by the results. In the team's first depth chart of the season, Taysom Hill, not Jameis Winston, is listed as the backup to Drew Brees.

Despite him mulling retirement, Brees decided to return for at least one more season with the Saints. Besides Brees, New Orleans elected to sign Hill to a two-year, $21 million deal that includes $16 million in guarantees.

At the same time, the Saints brought Winston in during free agency on a one-year, $1.1 million contract. Seeing that Hill is being paid more, it should have been expected for him to be the immediate backup to Brees.

But when you consider the fact that Winston is a more talented passer, then common sense says he should be the No. 2 option on the depth chart. However, Hill's current placement on the depth chart goes to show how much the team loves him.

In the past two seasons, Teddy Bridgewater served as the backup to Brees. After sitting behind Brees for two years, Bridgewater was given an opportunity to start again, inking a massive deal with the Carolina Panthers this offseason. With Bridgewater gone, the Saints believe they have two viable options behind the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback.

If Brees were to get injured this season, the Saints believe they have a capable quarterback room to replace him. While Hill is listed as the backup to Brees right now, it remains to be seen if New Orleans truly trusts him to start over Winston if need be.
