New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead did not make it very long in his return back from a pectoral injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, re-aggravating the issue and leaving the game.

Armstead had previously missed the previous five contests with the injury.

It had to be incredibly frustrating for Armstead, who wasn't sure whether or not to label Sunday a setback.

Still, he hopes to make it back for the playoffs, according to Christopher Dabe of The New Orleans Times-Picayune:

“It’s hard to know without really getting up there and doing it,” he said. “I’ll keep working and try to get back and ready for the playoffs.”

Injuries are nothing knew to Armstead, who will miss his 21st game over the last three years when the Saints play host to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

“It’s been a tough road. I’m going to keep working, keep pushing to try and get back right and be able to play in the playoffs.”

The good news for Armstead is that New Orleans has clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, meaning that the Saints will have a first-round bye, giving Armstead an extra week to get right.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, was originally selected by New Orleans in the third round (75th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

While he has been the Saints' full-time starting left tackle since 2014, he has never played a full season, maxing out at 14 games during his second year.
