In his first 10 career games this season, Smith has caught 22 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns. He has made a massive impact and has developed into a legitimate No. 2 target alongside star receiver Michael Thomas.
Article Continues BelowNew Orleans is one of the teams to beat in the NFL this season. They have knocked off the 10-1 Los Angeles Rams and proven that they have an elite offense that can keep up with anyone. Defensively, the Saints will need to work on consistency, but they have the talent necessary to pick things up in the playoffs.
Drew Brees, as usual, is playing at an elite level. He has taken steps to unseat legends in the NFL record books and shows no signs of slowing down.
All of that being said, the Saints need Smith on the field. Atlanta is going to be playing with desperation on Thursday night, so New Orleans cannot afford to underestimate them.
Expect to hear more info on Smith's injury in the next day or two, but at this point in time things aren't sounding great.
