Adrian Peterson is far from the superstar he used to be. He was recently signed by the Seattle Seahawks, his sixth team in five years, because their running back group was banged up. Although he wasn't a guarantee to play today, he got the chance and got himself a new accolade.

In his debut with the Seahawks, Peterson rushed in a one-yard touchdown to tie fellow legendary running back Jim Brown for the 10th-most touchdowns in NFL history. He also became one of four players — joining LaDainian Tomlinson, Marcus Allen and Emmit Smith — to rush for 120 touchdowns.

Peterson isn't likely to become a huge addition for the Seahawks, who are falling further out of the playoff picture. They're last in the NFC West coming into this week's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Adding Peterson was simply addressing their injury problems in their backfield.

All Peterson will do in the years to come, should he decide to keep playing, is add to his counting stats. His accolades — namely seven Pro Bowls, four All-Pro selections, the 2012 MVP Award — give him a terrific chance to be a first-ballot Hall of Fame induction. Getting his name higher on all-time leader boards should help his case, though he likely won't need any more evidence.
