Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf is one of the most intriguing rookie prospects we have seen in quite some time.

He didn't have an incredibly productive collegiate career, but due to a ridiculous workout at the Scouting Combine, some feel that Metcalf has Josh Gordon-type potential, including Russell Wilson, who said that Metcalf has “Hall of Fame potential.”

Well, Metcalf is trying to stay humble, saying that he wants to keep the same mindset he has had throughout his life.

“I always expect highly of myself,” said Metcalf, according to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times. “I’m always going to shoot for the stars. You know, I was a nobody at one point in my life, so I’ve just got to keep that same mentality.”

Metcalf, who played his collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, was selected by the Seahawks in the second round (64th pick overall) of the NFL Draft back in April.

The 21-year-old is coming off of a sophomore campaign in which he played just seven games due to a neck injury, finishing with 26 catches for 569 yards and five touchdowns.

He arrived at Mississippi in 2016, but redshirted. Then, during his freshman year in 2017, he caught 39 passes for 646 yards and seven scores.

So, obviously, Metcalf's potential is based on his athletic ability rather than his production, which is what makes him one of the biggest boom-or-bust prospects to come out of this draft class.

With Seattle in desperate need of a reliable receiver alongside of Tyler Lockett, Metcalf should certainly have a big opportunity in 2019.
