With Doug Baldwin off of the Seattle Seahawks that sets up Tyler Lockett to be the top receiver on the team. Most teams don't like their top guy to be the kick returner so there are questions if Lockett will continue in that role, but if Lockett is making the decision, he will be back deep.

“Yeah, I want to do everything, everything that I could possibly do, whatever that is,” Lockett said via Pro Football Talk.

Last season Lockett returned kicks and punts and had a total of 44 brought out for 636 yards. Back in May Pete Carroll said the team was still weighing their options on what they wanted to do, but everything was still on the table.

“We’re always thinking that way,” head coach Pete Carroll said in May. “We’ve been thinking that way for a few years. We look for opportunities and stuff like that and see if we can maximize his play however we do that. He’s such a great catcher and a great return guy it’s hard to put somebody else in his spot.”

“But, we continue to always lean that way. We’d rather have him pick and choose when we do it, particularly on the kickoffs. He’s just such a great punt returner, it’s hard to take him out of there.”

If the team does decide to take him off just one, it will probably the kickoff duty that he loses. As long as he is healthy all signs still point towards him being the punt returner for this upcoming season, along with taking on a bigger role in the receiving game.
