Shaquille O'Neal knows who deserves to win the MVP award this season.

While many believe James Harden is the favorite to win it, the Hall-of-Famer made it known that he thinks Russell Westbrook should be leading the race at this point of the season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is fresh off another spectacular performance on Wednesday where he made history by finishing with 57 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists — the highest scoring triple-double in NBA history. He also became the leader in 40-plus point game in franchise history, overtaking Kevin Durant in that category.

Harden, not to be outdone, is also having a career year with averages of 29.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and a league-leading 11.3 assists per game for the Western Conference's third-seeded Houston Rockets.

The two are believed to be the favorites to lift the Maurice Podoloff Trophy for their solid seasons, but for O'Neal, Westbrook has been more impressive. Although there are others that may not agree with him, it will be difficult to prove him wrong as well, as Westbrook is on pace to become the first player in 55 years to average a triple-double in the entire regular season and has led the Thunder to a 43-31 record so far. Being an MVP himself in 2000, Shaq also understands what it takes to win highest individual award in the NBA.
