With rumors about Josh Rosen being traded to the Giants reaching a fever pitch, the question of whether this is a good idea comes into play.
According to NJ.com, the Arizona Cardinals quarterback is looking like a good prospect for the boys in blue, especially since they've already passed up on four first-round quarterbacks to pick up running back Saquon Barkley.
“The Giants might get a chance to pick a quarterback from the 2018 NFL Draft after all. After passing up on four first-round quarterbacks to draft running back sensation Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick, the Giants could get a second shot only months later at Josh Rosen, who was drafted No. 10 by the Cardinals.”
This is a sentiment that's echoed by USA Today, who believes that the trade of Rosen to the Giants might be the best move for both teams.
“There were several bodies within the Giants organization who wanted to draft Rosen last year, but the shot-callers couldn’t come to an agreement on any one quarterback. They did, however, collectively believe running back Saquon Barkley was a sure thing. A trade of Rosen to the Giants is improbable, but not impossible. The Cardinals clearly have the potential motivation and the Giants have the means. It’ll be interesting to see if and how this situation unfolds.”
We'll all know soon enough where Josh Rosen ends up, but it will ultimately be interesting to see where he ends up with all these teams gunning for him. He's certainly proven he's worth it.
