An avid NBA bettor has placed a ton of money on the Philadelphia 76ers to make the playoffs this season. In a report by ESPN's David Purdum, an anonymous person has placed a staggering $100,500 for the Sixers to make the playoffs.

According to Jeff Sherman, vice president of risk for the SuperBook, the anonymous bettor placed a $100,500 bet on the Philadelphia 76ers to make the playoffs at minus-5,000 odds Wednesday. If the 76ers reach the postseason, the bettor will win a net $2,010.

Purdum added that the same bettor placed a $67,000 wager on the Golden State Warriors to make the playoffs at minus-10,000 odds last season. Obviously, the Dubs made it, and the person gained a $670 profit.

The bettor will have to wait until April to see if the Sixers will indeed make it to the postseason.

The Sixers have added Al Horford via free agency and Josh Richardson in a trade with the Miami Heat. They have also re-signed Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris to long-term deals, and at this point, Philly is expected to not only make it to the playoffs, but also represent the East in the NBA Finals.

The Sixers have been one of the best teams in the league over the past couple of seasons but they usually underachieve in the playoffs. However, it looks different for them this upcoming season. They are viewed as one of the best defensive teams in the league and they are projected to win at least 54 games by multiple online betting sites.

So barring any injuries to Philly, the unnamed bettor will collect his profit next year.
