Allen Iverson wants to return to the Philadelphia 76ers and be part of the organization once again. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Sixers have any interest as of the moment.

In a recent interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Iverson shared his love for the organization and his desire to be back with the team and contribute in any role the Sixers see fit–be it as part of the coaching staff or even as a consultant.

Despite his massive interest, though, the Sixers haven't called him yet. However, he is not closing his doors on the opportunity as he said the chance to return to the team in any capacity will make him the “happiest in the world.”

“I’m a Sixer for life. I got Sixer blood pumping through me. Everybody knows that I want to help that organization. I been retired, what, 11 years? I don’t know how I’m not a part of that staff in some kind of way,” Iverson shared, per Larry Brown Sports.

“Even if it’s [as a consultant], I will be the happiest in the world and the money thing ain’t got nothing to do with it. It’s just me being me and me being a Sixer and wanting to help. I don’t know why nothing has been put in place for me. I still love y’all. Don’t get it twisted. It’s all love and it ain’t never going nowhere. But it’s just something I don’t understand.”

With AI part of the staff or a consultant, he can definitely help in the development of the next generation of Sixers guards.

Of course, there might be a reason the Sixers are not hiring Iverson despite not playing in the NBA since 2010. Regardless, AI has a huge fanbase in Philly after spending the best years of his career in the City of Brotherly Love, and it might be a good idea to explore the possibility of bringing him into the fold.
