The NBA 2K video games aims to get as realistic as it gets, coming up with timely updates based on players’ improving or declining performance. Don’t be surprised if your 2K opponents can now hit threes using Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers point forward recently got a boost on his numbers, after he hit his first career three-pointer against the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Australian caught a nice feed on the right corner past the arc and calmly swished the long-distance bomb.

His overall rating in the game remained at 87 (over 100), but his three-point attribute received a major buff, improving by 12 points. Simmons’ three-point rating is now at 47, after starting the year at just 35.

After making it through two NBA seasons without making a three, Simmons first drained a three-pointer back in the preseason, giving fans hope that he will now add a consistent jumper to his repertoire.

It took him 12 regular season games before finding the confidence to launch one, sending the entire Wells Fargo Center in a frenzy and creating quite a buzz online. The Sixers defeated the Knicks, 109-104, and got their 9th win of the season. Simmons finished the game with a solid double-double of 18 points and 13 assists, to go along with seven boards.

Simmons’ numbers are slightly down this year, averaging 14.1 points on 58.4 shooting from the field, while collecting 6.1 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 2.2 steals in 33.8 minutes.

After a 5-0 start, Philly lost some momentum and are currently ranked fifth in the East.
