Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum wasted no time during the first episode of his new podcast Pull Up, dropping a bomb nugget on LeBron James' offseason destination.

McCollum said that it wouldn't be smart to rule out James going to the Philadelphia 76ers, despite not presenting the clear-cut case that the Los Angeles Lakers have by clearing cap space during the offseason and the trade deadline.

“He's always calculated about his decision-making process going back to his youth,” McCollum said (h/t Ryne Nelson of SLAM Magazine). “Ben [Simmons] is his young guy. Ben is a member of Klutch Sports, so that also could play a factor. Philly is in the Eastern Conference. LeBron has been fond of the Eastern Conference throughout his career on what seems to be his EZ-Pass to the Finals. I think it's a bigger possibility than people think.”

McCollum has gathered the same facts that other journalists have throughout the season, but to hear it from a fellow NBA player just sends a stronger message that this might not be all in the bag for LaLa Land as previously thought of.

James has dismissed any talks of his future destination and it's likely that he is yet to consider what to do with his future until the very end of the season. But the facts remain the same — the Sixers boast the most win-ready lineup, miles ahead of the Lakers, who haven't been able to sniff the playoffs in the past five seasons.

Teaming up with his protege and winning it all alongside him to finish his career would be perhaps one of the most epic ways to put the finishing touches in an illustrious career — a feat he could only make happen in Philadelphia.
