Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid lost out on the 2021-22 NBA MVP award to Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, and one of his teammates thinks the snub is going to have an impact on Embiid's performance on Tuesday. Georges Niang issued a warning to the league ahead of Game 5 vs. the Miami Heat, indicating that fans were going to see a whole new level of intensity from Embiid on Tuesday night, via John Clark.

“You all get to see a pissed off Joel [Embiid],” said Niang. “You're welcome.”

That's probably not what Heat fans were hoping to hear ahead of a crucial Game 5 matchup. With the series tied at 2-2, Embiid will look to take over and make his case to the league that they chose the wrong man for this year's MVP award. Feeling slighted by the snub, Embiid could be in line for a massive game on Tuesday.

While Jokic and the Nuggets were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Warriors, Embiid and the Sixers have trudged on despite brutal injuries sustained by the superstar center. Masked Embiid will be paying with an extra bit of motivation on Tuesday night, which could be problematic for the Heat.

There is certainly an argument for Embiid to have won the MVP, but ultimately league voters felt that Jokic deserved the nod ahead of the Sixers star. That won't sit well with Embiid, and as Niang alluded to, we could see a fired-up performance from the big man as he looks to make a huge statement.
