After a cardiac victory over the defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers are now sitting at the third spot. With Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in tow, the team from the City of Brotherly Love is now one of the league's top up and coming teams.

Simmons, a favorite for this year's Rookie of the Year award, had a big game against the Cavs. He finished the night with 27 points, 15 rebounds, 13 assists, four steals, and a block. His aggressiveness pushed the Sixers to lead by as many as 30 points in the first half until the Cavs caught up with them but falling short in the final second.

Following the game, Sixers shooting guard J.J. Redick commented on Simmons' demeanor, offering a scary description of how the young Aussie sees the competition, per Derek Bodner of The Athletic.

J.J. Redick on Ben Simmons' demeanor on the court: “He sits behind a glass wall and looks at everyone else on the other side.” Says it hides his intensity.

At 21 years old, Simmons is already able to display maturity and a grasp of the game that is well beyond his years. Last season's wait truly paid off after he missed the entire campaign with a broken foot.

Now, the Sixers will be entering the postseason wars as one of the most dangerous teams in the conference. Their record defies what this team can do as Philadelphia has peaked at the right time.
