Philadelphia 76ers point-forward Ben Simmons took a 3-pointer against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, and even though he missed it, Sixers star big man Joel Embiid wants Simmons to keep shooting those shots.

Lakers star LeBron James was playing some disrespectful defense against Ben Simmons on Sunday. The King was just sitting in the paint while Simmons was on the perimeter. James was clearly daring Simmons to shoot jump shots.

To keep defenses honest, Simmons is going to have to continue to shoot those shots. Fortunately for him, his teammates are going to encourage him to.

As everyone knows, Simmons has yet to hit a 3-pointer in his NBA career. After Sunday's miss from beyond the arc, Simmons is now 0-of-14 from the 3-point line overall.

It's nice to see Simmons taking these shots, though. As an NBA player, you can't be afraid to take a jump shot or else teams are going to take advantage of that and sag off you.

The Sixers easily defeated the Lakers on Sunday by a final score of 143-120. Simmons finished with eight points, three rebounds and seven assists. Embiid, meanwhile, was a monster and put up 37 points and 14 rebounds. Philly is now 36-20 on the season.
