Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid put together a career performance in the Sixers' win against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. Once again, he found himself on the good side of fans at the Wells Fargo Center.

Embiid has endured his fair share of ups and downs with the Sixers faithful. According to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice, he still feels the brotherly love at the end of the day:

“They might have me in a lot of trade machines and all that stuff, they might boo, but it’s still all love. We’ve had a very, very deep connection since I’ve been in Philly,” Embiid shared.

Embiid also touched on how appreciative he is of their support.

“I’ve always appreciated everything they’ve done for me, and all the love they’ve given to me. All I can do to kinda reward them is to try to get wins every single night by playing hard and doing my job, so that’s what I’m going to keep on doing.”

These are certainly some telling comments made by Embiid. Although fans in Philadelphia have a tendency to flip-flop on him based on his performance, it seems he does not take the change-of-pace too personal.

Embiid made it easy to receive praise with a history 49-point, 14-rebound performance during their 129-112 win over the Hawks. He was also dubbed by point guard Trae Young as the best big man in the NBA for his spectacular outing.

The Sixers now find themselves just a half game behind the Miami Heat for the fourth seed in the East.

While Joel Embiid may be a good sport about it now, fans may want to be more appreciative of the fact that they have such a skilled big leading their franchise and perhaps be a bit more understanding of the ups and downs that come with a long season. Otherwise, there may come a day when they no longer have a choice in the matter.
