Sixers big man Joel Embiid and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns got into a huge brawl at the beginning of the season.

But now that Towns' mom has unfortunately tested positive for the coronavirus and is in a coma, that basketball rivalry has gone out the door:

This is a nice gesture from Embiid right here. The Sixers star and the rest of the NBA are praying for a speedy recovery for Towns' mother.

The NBA suspended the season following Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert's positive coronavirus test. Donovan Mitchell has the virus as well, although he's asymptomatic.

Detroit Pistons center Christian Wood, Brooklyn Nets small forward Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart are the other NBA players which contracted the virus.

The Sixers had three positive tests for COVID-19. The Sixers tested players, coaches and specific basketball operations support staff since they played Wood and the Pistons on March 11th.

Before the season got suspended, Embiid was averaging 23.4 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Sixers, who were in sixth place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings.
