Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid says he and Sixers general manager Elton Brand have built trust with one another, something Embiid says wasn't possible with Bryan Colangelo.

Colangelo and the Sixers parted ways in the summer of 2018 after his wife admitted to running multiple burner Twitter accounts which revealed non-public information about the team.

The Sixers are thankful to have Elton Brand building the roster. He did a great job of acquiring Josh Richardson from the Miami Heat in the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade deal and signing All-Star big man Al Horford in free agency, stealing him away from the rival Boston Celtics.

Last season for the Sixers, Joel Embiid played in 64 games. The two-time All-Star averaged 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 blocks while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The next step for Embiid is to become more consistent with his 3-point game and be in better condition. Embiid says he lost 25 pounds this summer, so that's great news for the Sixers.

Philly has a really good shot at winning the title in 2019-20. The Sixers' starting lineup of Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, Tobias Harris, Al Horford and Joel Embiid is as good as it gets in the NBA.
