Ben Simmons was kicked out of practice on Tuesday by Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers. As soon as the news hit, it made waves as many pondered why the Sixers booted him from the practice session.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Simmons refused to partake in a defensive drill.

Simmons is really going all out to show how much he truly doesn't care and how much he doesn't want to be with the Sixers. Flat out refusing to join a simple defensive drill that Rivers asked him to join in on is next level pettiness.

It's intriguing to wonder who is giving Simmons this advice and why they feel going this scorched-earth on it is the right avenue to take. It isn't going to wow any potential trade suitors and in the process he's burning any bridge he has with the Sixers. The last of those might the true intent.

Now it's apparent that there's just no going back from this for either Simmons or the Sixers. A trade almost certainly has to happen relatively soon even if it means Philly taking back less than what they expected to get. Simmons is now suspended for the season opener, got kicked out of practice and everyone seems fed up with the whole situation, including Joel Embiid.

The Sixers open up their regular season on Wednesday night in New Orleans against the Pelicans.
