The Philadelphia 76ers acquired James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets just before the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline. Sixers fans are elated, but one of the players might be even more excited about Harden's move to the City of Brotherly Love.
Tyrese Maxey shared his excitement at the Sixers' Camden, New Jersey indoor training facility. Team reporter Lauren Rosen tweeted his comments from Friday morning's get-together.
Tyrese Maxey grew up watching James Harden on TV – now they’re teaming up. Maxey on Harden:
“It’s kinda crazy because [James is] one of the guys you’d play with on 2K when you were a kid.”

Maxey said that he played 2K as a kid, and Harden, a player he watched at the time, was one of the guys he used. The 21-year-old is living out every young kid's dream, getting the chance to share the court with one of the guys he watched growing up.
He also touched on the new power duo of Harden and big man Joel Embiid.
Tyrese Maxey on playing with James Harden and Joel Embiid together:
"It’s 2 MVP-caliber players, on top of what we have here already. I think one thing that’s really going to help us – the chemistry, and the brotherhood that we have here… It’s going to be great. I can’t wait."

The young Sixers' star said that both are “MVP-caliber players. He thinks that the chemistry and brotherhood in Philadelphia will be great.
He expects a smooth transition for the Sixers, as well as for Harden and Paul Millsap.
More @TyreseMaxey on welcoming Harden and Millsap:
"It’s easy to welcome someone in. Guys like each other, like being around each other, like talking to each other, & like playing extremely hard for each other on the court. We'll try to make the transition as easy as possible."

According to Maxey, “guys like each other, like being around each other, like talking to each other, and like playing extremely hard for each other on the court.” This is the complete opposite of what Ben Simmons said and why he refused to play, which is why the Sixers made the trade in the first place.
Maxey is ready to welcome his new teammates with open arms, and, if everything goes according to plan, the Sixers will be a force to be reckoned with in the East.
