The Philadelphia 76ers lack depth as it is. Now, they are about to become even thinner.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, 76ers forward Wilson Chandler will miss the next two-to-three weeks as a result of a quad strain he suffered during the team's win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
Chandler scored eight points in 21 minutes before exiting.
On the season overall, Chandler is averaging 6.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and two assists over 26.4 minutes per game while shooting 44 percent from the floor, 39 percent from three-point range and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Philadelphia acquired Chandler over the summer, trading a couple of second-round draft picks to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for his services.
The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at DePaul University, was originally selected by the New York Knicks in the first round (23rd pick overall) of the 2007 NBA Draft.
He played in 35 games during his injury-riddled rookie campaign, registering 7.3 points and 3.6 boards a night.
The following year, Chandler appeared in all 82 contests, recording 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 33.4 minutes per game while making 43.2 percent of his field-goal attempts, 32.8 percent of his long-distance tries and 79.5 percent of his foul shots.
Chandler spent the first three-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Knicks before being traded to the Nuggets in a deal that sent Carmelo Anthony to New York midway through the 2010-11 campaign.
The Benton Harbor, Mi. native then went on to become one of the more consistent small forwards in the league during his time in Denver, although injuries did limit his playing time overall.
