The Philadelphia 76ers have had a solid offseason so far. Trading for De'Anthony Melton and signing P.J. Tucker and Danuel House gives Joel Embiid an excellent supporting cast. Could Kyrie Irving be the next player that the Sixers acquire? At the moment, it is very unlikely.

The Sixers were previously rumored to have offered a three-year deal to Irving. However, according to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Sixers are not pursuing Irving and the team has only had internal discussions about him.

Since Irving opted into his $37 million player option, the Sixers could use Tobias Harris' contract as the base of a potential trade. His fantastic scoring abilities would make him a terrific on-court fit next to Embiid. However, because of the endless uncertainty around Irving and his frayed relationship with James Harden, that fit will only be explored in theory rather than in practice.

The Sixers should, though, look into acquiring Irving's teammate (at the moment), Kevin Durant. Embiid wants the front office to do whatever it can to trade for him following his trade request from the Brooklyn Nets. Daryl Morey and company should listen to their superstar, even if other teams with more draft picks to offer get into the mix.

With Irving's days on the Nets seemingly finished, it looks pretty likely that he will not be on the move to Philadelphia.
