The Philadelphia 76ers suffered a major blow on Wednesday after Ben Simmons left the Sixers' game against the Washington Wizards.

Simmons appeared to be walking gingerly on his left leg as trainers escorted him to the locker room with just under six minutes to play in the third quarter.

Simmons was eventually ruled out for the rest of the game, with the Sixers citing that he sustained a left knee injury.

Ben Simmons had struggled immensely in the 23 minutes he was on the floor, shooting just 2-for-10 from the field and 4-for-8 from the free-throw line. He was impacting the game in other areas, however, tallying six rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals for the Sixers.

The former No. 1 overall pick posted a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the Sixers' loss to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, but things have gotten worse from there.

Simmons fouled out in just over 25 minutes of action during Monday's win over the San Antonio Spurs, and now he has sustained an injury that could keep him out of their upcoming seeding games.
