Video: Corey Brewer tries to guard James Harden while he’s down on the floor
Corey Brewer of the Philadelphia 76ers knows more than a thing or two about the offensive prowess of James Harden of the Houston Rockets. Even when Harden was down on the floor on Monday night, Brewer put on his best defensive stance.
Check out the clip below posted by Dime. As observed, Brewer — Harden’s former teammate — even tried to sell a flop.

Brewer started the game for the Sixers in place of the injured Jimmy Butler. Last week, the 32-year-old signed a 10-day contract with Philadelphia. He played eight minutes in last Tuesday’s win over Minnesota Timberwolves, where he had three points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal. In the last two games prior to their duel with the 76ers, however, he was listed as DNP-CD and did not see court action.
Brewer played a season and a half with the Rockets and was teammates with Harden. It’s safe to assume that he knows a thing or two on how to defend the reigning MVP — or at least how to get under his skin. Given Harden’s killer instincts, such antics could only work for so long. Perhaps Brewer is simply trying to put his best efforts, hoping to have his 10-day contract extended to a full season.
