The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky are getting ready for another highly anticipated regular season game, and Sky rookie Angel Reese made an intriguing fashion choice for Sunday's contest.

SoLegitCustom owner Marvin Baroota designed a special colorway for Reese's Reebok sneakers that are inspired by the infamous Batman villain The Joker. The colorway for the shoes are purple and green, a callback to The Joker's typical attire in several versions of the Batman comics, cartoons, and movies.

The move has fans believing that Reese is fully embracing the role of the villain as she faces off against fellow rookie Caitlin Clark. Reese said herself that she has no problem being seen as the “bad guy” if it means the further growth of the game of women's basketball.

“And just looking at that, I’ll take that role,” Reese said in media availability following the highly discussed first matchup between the Fever and Sky. “I’ll take the ‘bad guy’ role, and I’ll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates… I’ll look back in 20 years and be like, ‘yeah, the reason why [we’re] watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person’. It’s because of me, too, and I want y’all to realize that.”

She continued, “Like it’s not just because of one person. A lot of us have done so much for this game…there are so many great players in this league that have deserved this for a really, really long time, and luckily, it’s coming now.”

WNBA fans had a lot to say about her choice of shoes, taking to X to share their thoughts.

“Angel embracing the “Villian” role 😈 Tomorrow’s game should be interesting,” X user @thereeseeffect noted.

“Angel is a menace for this and I love it! No matter how nice this girl is y’all paint her out to be a “villain,” so she’s going to play her role,” posted @oSoBRANDnew.

“We finna get an Angel Reese masterclass,” shared @ShayDot2x.

The rematch between the Sky and Fever is certainly highly anticipated, especially after Chennedy Carter's altercation with Clark that sent the sports world into a frenzy. The first contest between the two teams was electric, with the Fever escaping with a 71-70 victory. Currently, the Sky aim to avenge their defeat and gain momentum to halt a three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, the Fever are riding high after holding off the Atlanta Dream last game and winning 91-84. Aaliyah Boston emerged as the star in that contest, finishing the game with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Indiana looks to take the winning formula from their victory over Atlanta and apply it for the rest of the season.

The game will occur on Sunday at 12 PM EST. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
