As Barcelona is now aiming to provide playing time minutes to some of its youth players, this may soon mean the end of the road for one veteran talent with the club.
As noted by the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato, Barcelona club officials will be open to parting ways with midfielder Philippe Coutinho over the upcoming winter transfer window.
For the moment, Barca will consider loan offers for Coutinho, as the club wants to “save money” by finding a suitor willing to cover his remaining wages for this season.
The report further added that Coutinho was proposed to Serie A side Juventus over the recent summer transfer window. Now, Juventus may be open to hauling in the Brazilian midfielder over the upcoming winter window due to the “favorable economic conditions” of such a possible deal.

Coutinho recently fully recovered from last season’s campaign-ending knee injury. As a result, Barca manager Ronald Koeman noted earlier in the season that he plans to count on Coutinho this year.
The veteran Brazilian talent has been featuring more regularly for the Catalan giants as of late, which includes his promising showing off the bench in the team's UEFA Champions League group stage home fixture against Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.
For now, Coutinho is expected to continue to be in Koeman's attacking rotation. Promising performances from the Brazilian could go a long way in attracting suitors willing to sign him on a loan deal over the winter transfer window later this season.
