Harry Kane has received encouragement from Harry Redknapp regarding his future prospects, including a potential lucrative move to MLS and playing alongside Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, reported by GOAL.
Harry Kane hoped his transfer to Bayern Munich in 2023 would end his long wait for major trophies. However, the German giants just concluded a rare season without any silverware. Despite this, Kane is tied to a long-term contract at the Allianz Arena and continues to captain an England squad strong enough to compete for top honors in Europe and globally.
Redknapp's Insights
Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, speaking in association with the free-to-play fantasy game Sorare, told GOAL about Kane’s quest for trophies: “It would be nice for him to win a trophy. I’m sure he will eventually – whether with Bayern Munich or England. No one has won a trophy with England since 1966, so that’s not easy. Club-wise, he’s an amazing player. He’s the best center-forward in the world. He can do everything. This summer, he has a big opportunity to win a trophy with England. We have the best squad in the tournament, and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t go all the way and win it.”
When asked if the lack of major honors bothers Kane, Redknapp said: “No, it won’t. He won’t be thinking about it. Look at how many goals he has scored again at Munich this year – a crazy amount. He has done his job. There are players that win trophies that are bang average but happen to be in a good team. He’s a fantastic player. He will go down in history at Tottenham as the leading goalscorer of all-time. Nobody will probably beat that. He’s a special player. I don’t think it will be bothering him. I do think he’ll win trophies before he retires.”
Will Harry Kane Return to Tottenham?
Kane severed ties with Tottenham as they couldn't meet his ambitions. When asked if Kane might return to Spurs, Redknapp said: “I doubt it. I doubt he will want to go back. It’s always difficult going back. Bayern Munich had a bad year, but it’s a massive club. Vincent Kompany going in there, I’m sure he can’t wait to work with Harry Kane. He can build a team around him next year. I would be surprised if he came back to Tottenham.”
Pressed on a possible return to the Premier League, Redknapp said: “Eventually, yeah, I could see him coming back. It depends how long he stays at Munich. I don’t think he’d want to come back at the end of his career if he’s starting to decline a bit. While he is doing well, I can see him staying in Germany for the foreseeable future. He went there to do a job and win things, and he won’t be happy until he achieves that.”
Eyeing MLS or Saudi Pro League
While a second Premier League stint may not appeal to Kane, he could be tempted by a move to MLS or the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Redknapp noted: “He could do. Money is not the key for him anymore. But a big payday at the end of his career in America, playing for David Beckham’s team or somewhere, doesn’t sound too shabby, does it? It sounds like quite a good idea.”
Kane's contract with Bayern runs until 2027, and any further transfer talk is being downplayed for now. He is fully focused on leading England into the European Championship this summer, having already taken his record-breaking haul of goals for the Three Lions to 63. As he prepares for the Euros, Kane’s future remains a topic of intrigue, with potential moves to new leagues and continents still on the horizon.
