“Cristiano Ronaldo just wanted respect, but at Juventus he was the scapegoat,” Evra said in an interview with Spanish outlet La Repubblica via Marca.
“Ronaldo needs love and respect, the criticism he received in Italy was ridiculous and a bit hypocritical. Cristiano Ronaldo's only true love is Manchester United,” he continued.

“The unforgettable moments experienced together were many,” the statement read via Juventus' official website. “We could recite them and relive them, but it would not help, because everyone has their own special memory linked to CR7.”
“Today that bond born on July 10, three years ago, has been dissolved, but what has been written will forever remain. It has been an incredible journey.”
